Case Study For Danesfield School

View Project

Requirement
The new website was required to reflect existing School literature, providing an overview of every important aspect of interest to parents, guardians and students. A visual consistency was therefore required covering areas from admissions policy to outdoor activities.

  • Complete re-design of site based upon School Prospectus
  • Development of site structure
  • Population of supplied content
  • Ability to add content (specifically announcements)

Solution
We designed the website incorporating a colour coordinated menu covering a range of School activities, events, news and facilities.

  • BBI came up with nine skin instances and 18 container versions working as one, creating a menu design which reflected the colour silhouette of children from the school prospectus.
  • Montage images above all the menus was created using a limited number of available images.
  • The colour co-ordinated skins and containers, allowed Danesfield to select a colour scheme depending on the section they are developing.
  • The site structure was developed in-conjunction with the School, focusing on what the school needed and wished to communicate. The home page carries an announcement banner that is only used when the School has a specific message they want to convey. This has resulted in a reduction of calls into the School office for subjects such as “is the school sports day still on?”
  • BBI provided additional assistance in the production of key PDF material as part of the set-up, ensuring a consistency of available downloads was met.
  • Site population included developing subtle image variations to reflect the chosen colour scheme.
  • BBI was in continual dialogue with the client in order to deliver the project both on time and to exceed expectation.
  • BBI completed the project providing DNN training to key staff, to allow them to manage the site once live.
